Review: HANNIBAL / (2001) *** (out of four) Blake French: Some films are born to inspire sequels, but the silence of the lambs movie that does not need a sequel. Oscar-winning thriller critics have always been there, so continuity is almost incapable of living up to their standards. Even worse for the highly anticipated sequel Hannibal, the original director and star of the film was saved, leaving Ridley Scott (Gladiator) and Julianne Moore (Magnolia) to fill their places in the credit. It is hard to imagine how this film might succeed. But the film is very beautiful, strong performance, the story is interesting, moody atmosphere and trigger more nail-biting moments than most thrillers today. History does not compare to Hannibal Silence of the Lambs. It replaces the sequence tension-filled psychological violence with scenes featuring some of the most disgusting images and realistic violence has left its mark on the big screen. The film relies heavily on scenes of extreme shock factor such as violence, even if the content is not excessive or relentless. It is the right time. Mere presence of Anthony Hopkins in the horror and career guidance to determine, often creating enough violence for several films. Hannibal knew that often give the character more freedom than he did in it's first film. But I'm not sure that's a good thing; it's even worse to hear Hannibal Lecter discuss their brutal actions or really see how it performs behaviors that interfere with that? The film takes place ten years after the FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster Julianne Moore is at the moment) interview massacres convicted cannibal Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) while searching for another killer perturbed. Today: Clarice involved with the determination of a drug bust that left many dead. Justice Department officials Paul Krendler (Ray Liotta), will punish him when he got a call from a deformed beyond recognition in survivors of the attack Lecter. His name is Mason Verge (Gary Oldman), a wealthy recluse who asks Starling to relocate the case cannibal, free for ten years. The film is to explore more of experience Clarices with Hannibal Lecter. The script actually consists of two separate floors, a detailed scheme of revenge Mason, who was still angry at Lecter after he caused the removal of her face and partial paralysis. Another case in Italy, where the name of the Inspector Rinaldo Pazzi (Giancarlo Giannini) out to claim the reward of millions of dollars to provide the authorities with proper evidence that led to the arrest of a man who is none other than himself Lecter. Obviously, these people do not know that he would be in, and ended up losing their own wounds for money? Right. Parallel stories are always interesting, but easily distracted, and some characters or events. What keeps the film interesting is the consistent focus on Lecter; everything in this story seems to revolve around it. Instead, Hannibal also pretty useless, because it does not solve anything. Without giving up, I would say that we are once again left thinking Lecter. Most any film that raises thought worth seeing, but Hannibal forget the first movie, taking a position on its own, and once again we promise surveillance unnecessary. The most obvious conflict with many of the audience had with Hannibal is the lack of Jodie Foster. Julianne Moore is most definitely capable and sophisticated actor who plays Starling with many and obvious. But Foster is just better in the role, and we miss her dearly. Anthony Hopkins Movie preserve; so great and terrible actress with slim and stylish way, she again qualifies as a candidate for the Prize. Thank God, he returned to the role; without Hopkins, Hannibal will be nothing but carnag unfinished ...
