Review: Step aside, Kevin Sorbo, we have a new man for the role of Hercules and his name is Kellan Lutz. He was despised by his father, King Amphitryon (Scott Adkins) from the day he was born, Hercules - the son of Zeus and Alcmene Regina (Roxanne McKee) - is was sent to war after failing to escape with his true love, Princess of Hebe (Gaia Weiss). King Amphitryon promotes the eldest son, Iphicles (Liam Garrigan); Unfortunately, it was not a warrior material let alone take the kingdom and win the heart of Princess Hebe. As fate would have it, Hercules had survived the war and returned to reclaim his love and anger reign of King Amphitryon. The poster reads from Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger director - his unfortunate they forgot to add the fact that both films were more 20 years old, and Renny Harlins career as a director is long been sunk to a certain island ruthless. But every set piece looks like a cheap knock-off, up to the CG extensions - case in point, one seriously fake looking puppeteer lion looks even worse than in the cable series Spartacus and Rome.Written least four credited writers (one of them from the terrible remake of Conan the Barbarian, and I Harlin), is a shame that the story would mythology-inspired pretty reminiscent of Ridley Scotts Gladiator than anything else - if you remember, Maximus, also issued and sold as a slave, but made again of revenge. We did not realize that the greek mythical hero Hercules actually venture in the same way now.Unimaginative plot aside, the film suffers from incredible noisy, modernized dialogue peppered with various British and American accents and delivery horrible actors. With the exception of McKee and Adkins (surprising turns in a solid performance), most of the cast members - especially Lutz - need to apply for advanced acting classes. Minus all gut, limbs and head jerking and bloodletting that one would expect from such issues (in an obvious attempt to attract younger audiences), The Legend of Hercules quickly dissolves into a predictable yawn fest.Its bit 'disappointing that a film about a demigod with incredible force prices without emotion and sounds like a mere general paint by number adventure. Comparing this 1997 cartoon from Disney, this is not certainly worth the time.

Review: After seeing RISE Channel 4 last night I promised myself I was not going to waste two hours of my life and money on a bus ticket and theater to watch a Hollywood blockbuster sequel. Maybe the summer heat is frying my brain woke up taking a long walk from the center of Edinburgh and spend 20.08 on a ticket to watch Dawn. Maybe I tried to teach me a lesson that I should always stick to the gut instinct?
